Half Baked is a regular cache set in a beautiful location in Gatineau Park between Lac Mousseau and Lac Philippe.
As you approach the cache from the north you are treated to a spectacular view of the length of Lac Philippe.
In the summer Lac Philippe has camping, a great beach, canoe rentals, many hiking trails and nearby Lusk Cave. Nearby caches include Henry the Little Lean-to Cache (Little Raven and Griffindog) *archived*, Roasted Power Bar (binthair) *archived* , Caverne Lusk Earth Cache (GC1FZ0C) and Lakeside Loot (markus).
Depending on the season, you can hike, mountain bike or cross-country ski to the cache.
Parking is available at:
- P19 (Lac Philippe) which is 7km from the cache. You have to pay to park here both summer and winter.
- P20 (Lac Philippe Plage Parent) which is 3k5 from the cache. You have to pay to park here both summer and winter.
- P17 is 6km from the cache and is the more rugged. Parking should be free outside of ski season.
- P16 (Pine Road) which is 10km from the cache. You can stop at Herridge cabin along the way. Parking should also be free outside of ski season.
The cache is hidden about 20 metres off trail #50 just south of Lac Philippe in the crotch of a large multi-trunked tree.
The cache container is a large peanut butter jar (4” in diameter and 7” tall) so keep trade items small. The original contents of the cache, when established were: • The “Eastbound and Down” travel bug • One first finder medal courtesy of my first find at Kenmore’s Missing Mongolian • Several laminated copies of three different muffin recipes that are personally recommended by grizzlyG. They are easy to make and provide that needed energy boost to climb a steep hill or to escape when confronted by a bear. If possible, trades could include your favorite baking recipes.

Half Baked est une cache traditionnelle située dans un endroit magnifique du parc de la Gatineau, entre le lac Mousseau et le lac Philippe.
En vous approchant de la cache par le nord, vous avez une vue spectaculaire de la longueur du lac Philippe.

- P19 (Lac Philippe) qui est à 7km de la cache. Vous devez payer pour vous garer ici, été comme hiver.
- Le 20 (Lac Philippe Plage Parent) est à 3k 5 de la cache. Vous devez payer pour vous garer ici, été comme hiver.
- Le P17 est à 6 km de la cache et est le plus accidenté. Le stationnement devrait être gratuit en dehors de la saison de ski.
- P16 (Pine Road) qui est à 10km de la cache. Vous pouvez vous arrêter à la cabane Herridge en cours de route. Le stationnement devrait également être gratuit en dehors de la saison de ski.
La cache est située à environ 20 mètres du sentier no 50, juste au sud du lac Philippe, au milieu d'un grand arbre à plusieurs troncs.
Le contenant de la cachette était à l'origine un grand pot de beurre d'arachide (4 pouces de diamètre et 7 pouces de hauteur), alors utilisez de petits objets d'échange. Le contenu original de la cache, lorsqu'elle a été établie, était le suivant : - La punaise de voyage "Eastbound and Down" - Une médaille de première découverte, gracieuseté de ma première trouvaille au Missing Mongolian de Kenmore - Plusieurs copies laminées de trois recettes de muffins différentes, recommandées personnellement par GrizzlyG. Ils sont faciles à préparer et fournissent l'énergie nécessaire pour gravir une pente raide ou pour s'échapper lorsqu'on est confronté à un ours. Si possible, les échangent pourraient inclure vos recettes de pâtisserie préférées. En fait, le contenant de la cache est une boîte à munitions.
