Geocache Description:

For my first time hiding a cache, I chose Ashley Peak, a short (approx. 1,580') mound of dirt in Griffith Park, near Mount Hollywood.

I've been unable to determine if this peak has an official name, so I named it after my dog Ashley, who beat me to the summit the first time we went there.

The cache was originally a multi-stage cache, but the first stage disappeared and its hiding place is deteriorating, so the coordinates now lead directly to the final stage. The cache is inside a metal army surplus tool kit, and when placed contained:

  • My old, slightly used, Magellan Blazer12 GPSr.
  • Two-pack of Energizer e2 lithium AA batteries.
  • Deck of playing cards from the Luxor, Las Vegas casino
  • Box of crayons
  • Toy car
  • Two magnetic kitchen clips
  • Two piece key-ring
