Geocache Description:

**** Coordinates above are for the general location ****
If you listened to rock and roll on WIL, KXOK, KWK, KATZ or KXLW in the 50's (before FM), this should be easier to solve. The "youngsters" may need to do a little research.

First you need to solve the missing numbers that involves the partial lyrics from songs that were popular between 1955-1960.

All the songs below reached #8 or higher and 3 were #1. The letter "X" represents a 1 to 4 digit number used in the lyrics. Substitute the value for "X" from each song into the table below, in sequence, with each digit taking 1 cell.

1. I loaded 16 tons of number "X" coal, the straw boss said "well a-bless my soul"
(X is NOT "4")

2. Those are all of "X" reasons why I love you

3. The movie's over, it's "X" o'clock, and we're in trouble deep

4. "X" miles across the sea, Santa Catalina is a-waitin' for me

5. The Cadillac doin' 'bout "X", she's bumper to bumper rollin' side by side

6. In "X" we took a little trip along with Colonel Jackson down the mighty Mississip

7. Tooling down the highway doing "X", I'm a twin pipe papa and I'm feelin' fine

As a favor to Strider, I didn't use the Coke song

A B C D E F G H I J K L M N
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The table contains 14 cells for the 14 digits from the lyrics. The sum of the individual digits equals 72. (A+B+C+D....+N = 72)

For the younger crowd I'm giving you the year the song was popular and the singer. You must decrypt the singers name on your own using the standard ROT13 encryption.

1-1955; Graarrffrr Reavr Sbeq
2-1960; Pbaavr Fgriraf
3-1957; Rireyl Oebguref
4-1958; Sbhe Cercf
5-1955; Puhpx Oreel
6-1959; Wbuaal Ubegba
7-1956; Areibhf Abeihf

Once you leave the trail from the parking area, you will be greeted with nice, steep, rolling hills and no trails to follow. Cache container is a 1 1/2 qt. Rubbermaid container. It's about 1 mile round trip but depending on your approaches, it could be longer.

Parking Area: For the parking area coordinates, replace the 3 decimal degrees (000) from the top of the page for North and West with the numbers derived from the table above.
N38° 32.BDC and W90° 40.IAL will give you the parking coordinates. When you arrive, you'll know that you are at the right spot. No complicated addition or subtraction, just simple substitution.

N38° 32.________ and W90° 40.________

WP1: There is a gated cave in the park known as Brother Hubert's cave. The cave is locked and entrance is allowed only with a park caving permit. To determine the coords for the cave, substitute the values from the table above with the decimal degree letters: N38° 32.EHN and W90° 40.EEG.

As above, these numbers simply replace the 3 digits for the decimal degrees above. No complicated addition or subtraction, just simple substitution.

N38° 32.________ and W90° 40.________

FINAL: Attached to the cave gate is a tag with N. and W. and letters representing the decimal degrees. These letters must be converted to numbers by substituting the numbers below for the letters on the tag (as above). As before, these numbers simply replace the 3 digits for the decimal degree letters: N38° 32.??? and W90° 40.???. No complicated addition or subtraction, just simple substitution. These coordinates will then lead you to the final cache.

I could only get about 35 feet accuracy in the final cache area, so you may want to look at the hint if you have trouble.

N38° 32.________ and W90° 40.________

NOTICE: Please be respectful of the posted park hours. If you enter the park after hours you are trespassing. If you are stopped you can be ticketed or arrested and will put the future of geocaching in the parks in jeopardy
