This is a nice walk along the Washington & Old Dominion Trail. The parking lot is across the street from a 7-11. The actual cache itself is a waterproof matchstick container.

At N38 57.332 W77 21.082 you’ll find a sign about the Sunset Hills Station. Count the number of railroad cars (including the engine) to determine the “C” in the cache coordinates. I found it interesting that Reston was not the first “planned” community attempted in this area. An individual bought land, dug lakes, built roads and buildings. He died in 1EF1, before his dream could be fulfilled.
At N38 57.325 W77 21.068 you’ll find a sign about the Washington & Old Dominion Trail. The W&OD is a 100 feet wide by 45 mile long park (Don‘t worry - your walk is much shorter!). You can buy a 64 page trail guide listing restaurants, rest rooms, etc… If you take the number of detailed map pages and add the individual number together you’ll have “B”.
At N38 57.334 W77 20.969 You’ll find a nice restful spot. It’s an open stone and metal structure. Go on in, sit, read and reflect. There’s a beautiful poem by Emily Dickinson. There are “D” words in the the line with the most words.
There is a beautiful and restful spot located at N38 57.290 W77 20.923. Take a few minutes to sit, read, and reflect. The author is William Cullen Bryant. The “A” in the cache coordinates is the number of square metal plates. I'm referring to the top plates.
You should now have everything you need to find the micro. Please be sure to use super stealth when heading to GZ and also when returning from GZ! Good luck!
NOTE: The “No Trespassing Sign” is fairly new this past year (2018). There had been an ongoing issue with homeless folks loitering and or camping out on the island after hours leaving litte behind them, folks fishing and or swimming in the pond, etc.. There is also a sign on the island and around it stating “NO SWIMMING, BOATING, OR ICE SKATING...” If you are a respectful visitor who doesn’t do any of the above and doesn’t impinge upon anybody else who is there quietly enjoying the park, everything should still be fine. PLEASE USE GEO STEALTH WHILE SEARCHING TO HELP LONGEVITY OF CACHE.
