Sunrise Mountain Traditional Cache

The cache is on top of Sunrise Mountain. It will require a little hike to reach it from State Road 147. From the top of Sunrise Mountain you will get to see some unique views of Lake Mead, Nellis AFB, and the Speedway. Nearby at the top is the remains of the airway beacon. The airway beacon was surveyed in 1947. It consisted of rotating beacon on top of a three-legged wooden tower standing 25 feet high. The tower was standing in 1990, but not sure when it was cut down. The Army didn't do a very good clean up when they dismantled the tower

The cache is inside a metal canister which is located in a rock igloo. To access the cache by removing a few of the top rocks of the igloo.
