Nice Picnic & Rest Area on the Waiau River, between Waiau and Hanmer Springs.
I caught my first ever sea run salmon (19lb) from the rocks across the river from here (many years ago now).
Salmon are most likey to be in the river spawning between late December and early March.
Be mindful with children, due to the close proximity of the river to this cache site.
