An urban wetlands, often great for bird watching.
A fun place to watch birds, especially in the Fall and Winter. When we placed the cache we saw Canadian Geese, Ringnecked Pheasents, Coots,Redtail Hawks, Hummingbirds, American Kites and Mallard Ducks. Beavers created the swamp, so if you get lucky.... There can be (slippery in winter) steep hills involved. I suggest parking at either N38-48.605 W121-16.995 to enjoy a hot drink, or N38-48.815 W121-16.737. From the second spot, you can enjoy the birds from a hill across the street for a spell before going for the cache. Please note: This used to be a regular sized cache but it was muggled twice, so it is now a well hidden micro. PLEASE REPLACE EXACTLY AS FOUND! Update on 4/6/19: Replaced cache to a different, higher spot. It will now be helpful to have a monkey and/or TOTT along. Hope it will last longer.Update 5/4/21 Someone moved the cache to an easier, lower location! I have now moved it from the original spot to one that is a bit more open and NOT behind the building. Please approach from the NE, as some have reported homeless folks closer to the 7-11.
