Ian&Sue - Team Pathfinder: We dropped in to check the cache on our way north and was surprised to find that without the GPS I couldnt find it. (I didnt spend much time looking as I thought I knew exactly where it was). We intended to do a thorough check and maintainence visit on our return.
A note from WanderingAus (thanks Keith) who was a day or so behind us and an attached photo lead me to believe that after all this time someone had removed the structure the cache was hidden in.
On returning to DeGrey River last week we again searched for the cache using our GPS and as we had thought the structure had been removed. Only recently I should add as the ground still showed the marks where it had been resting. We searched in case the cache had been dropped nearby as a crane would have been needed to remove the structure but no find was had.
As the weather was turning very nasty, it turned out to be the day that the guys got washed away with a road train just down the road, we didnt bother replacing it. We have decided that it is probably time to retire this one as without something to hold it up above the ground and protect it from fires it would be constantly damaged or missing.
