Geocache Description:

Middle of Delmar Valley near petroglyph's. Approachable from three directions.

This is an ammo can easy to find. We approached from the highway to the North, the Delmar Road by Cliente. It is good road as a car can reach it but it is a long drive. It is approachable from the Alamo side but we didn't use that road. I think it is good also. The third road from the South is very rough, just bladed and full of rocks, passable but nasty. Use all desert precautions in all this country driving. The "glyphs" were kind of sparse but that and the hard pan dry lake are worth a look. Glyph is at N 37 20 130, W 114 56 582, within walking distance. Please do not deface or destroy these artifacts. Take only pictures.

I just like exploring Nevada and this is an area I hadn't been to before.

When left the cache contained "Traveling Fly Swap" travel bug, copies of Lincoln Cnty tours guide (take one), Mint 400 coin, gold plated Ike dollar, $100 fridge magnet, coyote candle, dash/map light, rapala floating lure (works at Sunnyside), Big Dog token, Railroad Pass dollar token, and new Country Hits CD.

According to maps and some reading this dry lake was an alternate emergency landing strip for the X-15 while they were trying to break the sound barrier. Never got used though.
