This is on UMD land off I35 south. Container is a .30 cal ammo can and originally contained a deer hunting video, hunter orange knit hat, $10 gift certificate to a bar in Holyoke, and other stuff. I try to restock the can with items each spring and fall.
This cache was designed to be accessed via the pull off ramp on the Interstate Highway I35. There is a pull off for both the northbound and southbound traffic. I believe MN was going to set up a truck weigh station, but never followed through. There are maintenance buildings only on the southbound pull off, and this is how the cache is accessed. It is no more a problem for a driver to temporarily park on the pull off, as it would be to park on the shoulder of the highway to make a phone call, etc. I have been parked here while Troopers use the restroom, or what ever. If a person was messing around the buildings, I'm sure the Trooper would tell them to leave, but that's not what you should be doing. I have never accessed the cache via the Tribal land, and if it is marked NO TRESPASSING, I suggest you don't go this way.
