Pittman Center

'A Community Dedicated to Preserving Our Mountain Heritage'

Pittman Center was originally a Methodist mission outpost know as Pittman Community Center. The name was in honor of Dr. Eli Pittman whose influence enlisted overall support for the 1919 mountain mission project. When the community evolved into town status, know as Pittman Center, in 1975, the town fathers requested purchase of the home economic building as the town hall. The building was refurbished and sits on one acre of public land in which the park is located.

Pack the picnic basket, as this is a real nice place to bring the family and enjoy a picnic. There are picnic tables within a small pavilion setting that at times is utilized by local events and organizations. Nearby is Webbs Creek, running out of the mountains, abounding with fish and plenty of aquatic life. In periods of heavy mountain rains the creek runs swiftly and has been know to overflow.

A camouflage ammo box is your quest. This cache contains many Great Smoky Mountain souvenir items in which an attempt to replenish (in trade) will be made on monthly maintenance checks. Perfect for the vacationing family. Insure to SL.

The coordinates should be accurate within 12 feet. A “spoiler” hint is provided if you so choose to use. Be stealthy and beware of Geomuggles on high traffic days!

Due to very close proximity of a school, please notice and observe all speed limits in this small mountain community. As always, remember CITO.

Have fun and enjoy your geohunt!
