Located in Arroyo Tapiado in the wonderful Mudcaves area of the Anza-Borrego desert. Enter the narrow slot canyon at N32 55.412, W116 11.193 and follow it back beyond the second natural arch to the Peanut Gallery. On a ledge here in the canyon (and several other smaller ledges through the canyon) you'll encounter groups of little totems set up by other cachers and hikers. They're like little, silent spectators, watching the array of visitors come and go. As people continue to visit this fascinating area and wind and water claim their toll, the Peanut Gallery will change over time. Part of the purpose of this cache is to record those changes. It's a wonderful exercise in human creativity to see what new totems have appeared each time you visit this slot canyon.
Along with the largest group (the Peanut Gallery), you'll encounter many other totems in groups or individually keeping sentinel over this magical passageway. Just beyond the second natural arch is a group I call the Bleacher Bums - mostly smaller totems. Please note that in order to claim this cache as a find you MUST include at least one picture of either the Peanut Gallery or the Bleacher Bums with your log entry. I hate to be picky about it, but the purpose is to observe the changes and the results of visitors' imagination. If your log entry does not include a picture, I will delete it.
I have at times seen the Peanut Gallery much more organized than it was when I established this cache. Recent rains and winds have taken their toll, but I'm certain that future visitors will gradually remedy the situation - until nature decides to clean the slate again.
Peace,
Radical Geezer
