Geocache Description:

The lake near the cache is Carr Mill Dam, expanded in the 1750's to supply water to the St Helens Canal about 1 mile away. Originally it was a small mill pond built to power Carr's Mill.
Park in the pub/hotel car park at the junction of the A580 and A571.
The paths leading up to the cache area can get a bit muddy at times so correct footware recommended.
