Geocache Description:

This site is located south of St. George near the Arizona border in a small community which has sprung up out of the desert in recent years.

This is a very easy virtual cache for anyone heading south or north on 1-15 into the Virgin River Gorge and it has an interesting history lesson. There is a small monument/plaque in the parking lot located at a turnaround spot. Take the Bloomington exit and head south on Pioneer Road, it is paved all the way to the cache, no dirt road driving is necessary.

To get credit for finding this cache email me with the answer to one of three questions:
1. Who are the two people who founded Atkinville;
2. Who was this a sanctuary for and from whom were they hiding; or
3. What year was the town founded.

Have fun and don't forget to log your visit.
