The two-mile stretch of the San Diego River in Lakeside is one of the starting points of a regional effort to create a river-long lineal park that begins at the headwater of julian,meanders downriver through East County,Lakeside,Santee Mast Park,Mission Trails Region Park and Mission Valley and to the Pacific Ocean.
