Don't Pick it. Rub it! Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

Wis Kid: As your cache had been disabled beyond the few weeks allowed by geocaching guidelines, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact me (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, I'll be happy to unarchive it.

Geocache Description:

It is about a 1/2 mile hike to your first destination and another 1/2 mile hike to the final cache. This portion of the shore is quite hilly at points but the kids should do just fine. Watch for ice in the winter and mud when it rains.

The coordinates above lead to a sign that reads "You are invited to walk along the lakeshore path and enjoy the natural beauty of the Geneva Lake shoreline". Next to the sign is a door in a fence that is usually closed. Open the door to begin your journey. Your first destination is just over 1/2 mile west along this trail. It might feel a little strange walking in front of these beutiful homes, but have no fear.

For part one, you're looking for a very distinct object at N42 33.598, W88 29.620 -- you really can't miss it! There's a plaque at the base of this object that claims someone important died there sometime in the past. You need to know the DAY of the month this person died to find the final treasure.

The Pottawatomie Indian Trail that surrounds Lake Geneva is public by law; however everything that surrounds it is private land. Because of this, we placed the cache in a public park that you will have to drive to (unless you're really in the mood for a hike!)

To find the cache:

  • Read the plaque at N42 33.598, W88 29.620
  • Add 20 to the DAY of the month listed
  • Go to the following coordinates

The cache is here:

  • N42 32.4(DAY + 20)
  • W88 29.982

The cache was originally filled with toys children should enjoy.

You'll want to bring your camera with you on this cache. There will be lots of photo opportunities. Feel free to post any pictures you're proud of to this cache page (except for pictures of the unique object that is).

Happy Hunting!!!
