Ajaja Ajaja's CITO Event & Potluck GeoPicnic Cache In Trash Out® Event

Yuzawa Kat: I would be remiss if I did not put my own final post:

Again, thanks to all who helped make the CITO Event and GeoPicnic such a memorable event. [^] I'd like to start mentioning each and everyone of you by name, though I dare not, for fear of forgetting even a single one. [:I] You all know who you are and how much we appreciated you being there. Thanks to the numerous travellers from north, south, and east coming all this way for the event. [:D] The getting-to-know-you games are always a HOOT, especially when the Bingo Banshee and the Kayak Animal collide, as well as the night-time webcam ARMS UP group at Pick Don! Oh, and why not mention the CITO Gift to Mother Earth -[^]- Bill Sanders, the Keep Pinellas Beautiful organizer, tells me our group had the biggest turnout of all the other groups registered in the COUNTY -- and I bet we had the most fun, too! [:D]

Heartfelt thanks goes out to all who posted Happy Birthday messages for CSI Crue (that's Cache Scene Investigator Crue to you) on their Crueage logs -[:)]- she's got it on her Watch List, so her birthday was even brighter because of you. She's sorry she couldn't have joined in on the fun, and can't wait to join us for the next!

Personal thanks to Burgi Dad/Dennis, as always, for going with the GeoEvent flow that becomes a runaway train towards the end there... [:X] We're getting to know what we're getting ourselves into... and, you see, we still do it anyway! [;)]

Last, but never least: Very special thanks to the One who answered my prayers for "A Good Turnout" with the beautiful day of sunshine and breeze. Nothing is more inviting than that. [^] I love this hobby/obsession. Have a blessed day. Happy caching ~~

PINELLAS SPRING CLEANUP 2004

The “Pinellas Spring Cleanup Program”, as part of the Great American Cleanup Program, has volunteer activities planned from March 15 through May 31, 2004.

GXers have been invited to
participate in the KICK OFF EVENT

on Saturday, March 20th, starting at 8:30 a.m.

Students, families, groups such as us GXers, and other organizations are asked to help reduce litter and marine debris by volunteering just two hours. Volunteers [8D] [:D] [:)] [8D] will be provided trash bags, gloves, sunscreen and water, but you may want to bring your own as well. For safety's sake, PLEASE WEAR CLOSE-TOED SHOES during the CITO portion of this event.

We GXers [8D] [:D] [:)] [8D] will "inherit" the Pavillion after the Cleanup.  We will fire up the grills, enjoy our Potluck GeoPicnic, play our GXing games, raffle off Travel Bugs, and then head on out for cache-a-thons in the rest of Ft. DeSoto Park.

For the Potluck GeoPicnic, please bring your own group's main dish (meat to grill or sandwiches or whatever) and something to share with others, whether it be a salad, a side dish, drinks or dessert. [:p] Not so many desserts, please! [V] We're already on a natural high; we don't need a sugar high, too!

Remember the Undiscovered GeoEvent's "bonus" for donating canned goods to the ATTN House? [^] This time, if you donate canned goods or other non-perishables again, I will give you an extra ticket for the TB Raffle.

Speaking of raffle tickets, you will get one ticket for each TB you bring. [:)] Please remember to "Drop" your TBs at this cache before putting them in the raffle. Did you know you can drop multiple TBs with one post?

We will NOT be giving as many extra raffle tickets as last time, since it slowed down the GXing game. [:(] Only the GeoStoryTellers [;)] will have the opportunity to earn extra tickets during "I Read It in the Logs: the Fact or Fiction GXing Game" by Yuzawa Kat. [8D] We can't wait to hear what you all come up with this time!

The caches currently in the park include:

Fort DeSoto
Traditional Cache
Gear Cache
The Two Towers
Mullet Key Cache
Mini Might

At least two more will be placed before the 20th!

There will also be an event cache permanently placed for this occasion. [^] You are encouraged to bring your signature item or a trinket to leave in the cache.

We'll have a blast together and do some good for Mother Earth at the same time, so please join us. In order to get a ball park figure of the amount of people coming, please post a note to let us know if you will be there and how many people will be with you. See you on March 20th. [8D] [:D] [:)] [8D] Have a blessed day. Happy caching!

P. S. Looking for a place to camp in the area, but know that Ft. DeSoto is booked? [:(] One of my GXing contacts [8D] in Manatee county, just over the Skyway Bridge, suggests: How about some Hillsborough or Manatee county parks... Like Lithia Springs campground... or Rye Wilderness. Lithia is in the Gibsonton area... and Rye is in Manatee County off of SR 64. There is also, Little Manatee River State Park... off of 75 and 301 four miles south of Sun City Center. Hope this helps out!

Can't make it to Ft. DeSoto, but still want to be part of the solution?
