This tranquil 80 acre forest is set amid the development of the
Lake of the Ozarks area. Roy Mansfield sold the land for $1 in 1973
to be preserved in his mother's memory. Thus, the Alice Ahart
Mansfield Conservation Area was born. We first explored this forest
the day after a snowfall. The woods are teeming with wildlife,
evident from the plentiful turkey tracks and buck rubs.
