Cache is located in Jefferson Barracks County Park.
Cache is located at the bottom of a large geologic sinkhole? A very interesting spot just crying for a cache to bring geocachers and others down to look around and explore. Although it is obviously a natural geologic feature, there are some obvious signs of human intervention to stabilize the area. And how was the area used? Firing range maybe? I don't know, but if anyone finds out the function of the area please log it in.
Depending on where you park, it can a very short walk to reach the area of the cache. There is very close parking near the old armory/battery in the park. Be careful getting to the bottom. When the cache was originally placed, there was a well defined trail to the bottom. The trail now is overgrown and more close resembles a bushwacking experience. The alternative routes to getting to the bottom, however, are more difficult.
The cache is larger than a micro but smaller than a traditional tupperware container.
