Some friends and I decided to hike today, the “extra” day we get every four years. Seemed like a bonus day for caching to us and the day turned into one of those perfect days along the coast, great friends, good weather and a fun time finding caches.
Best parking is in the day use area of Sycamore Canyon Campground in Point Mugu State Park. Walk through the campground and take the Scenic Trail to the Overlook trail. I would suggest purchasing a trail map at the rangers kiosk or from the campground host if you are unfamiliar with the park, a great deal for only a couple bucks.
The cache you are seeking is a 4”x5” candy tin that’s been painted to blend into it’s surroundings.
As always in our area, look carefully before reaching around rocks and into bushes, wouldn’t want to disturb any critters would we?
