Get Your Bearings Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Hornytoad: Well, Team Mule Ears was right, the cache is gone. And so is the new, unopened gallon of water. I irrigated the desert. I hope to place a cache like this one in a new location in the near future.

Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the above coordinates.

You will have to calculate the cache coordinates from the information below. It is hidden on State Trust Land east of Green Valley.

Note: This cache is on State Trust Land and you must have a State Trust Land recreation permit to legally be in this place. These permits are easily obtained by phoning (602) 364-ASLD. This is a recording in which people can request a permit application. The permits are relatively inexpensive - $15 for an Individual Permit, and $20 for a Family Permit. The permits are good for one year from the date of issue, and allow legal access to any State Trust Land in Arizona. More information may be found at the following link: http://www.land.state.az.us/programs/natural/rec_offroad_permit.htm

The cache is located at the intersection of the 3 azimuths from points A, B and C. The coordinates are:

  1. N 31 51.544 W 110 49.945, bearing from A 218.2 TN
  2. N 31 49.542 W 110 55.746, bearing from B 90.29 TN
  3. N 31 46.916 W 110 51.108, bearing from C 346.9 TN

I will leave it up to you to decide how you want to enter the State Trust Land, but an easy approach would be from Whitehouse Canyon Road (Madera Canyon) to Box Canyon Road (62) proceed about 1/2 mile and make a left (coming from Green Valley - Continental) at N 31 47.384, W 110 52.594. After you are in the area, it's an easy walk to the cache from the road.
