Don’t let the gate fool you. This cache is located on an undeveloped parcel of Metro Greenspace land. The public is welcome. Parking coordinates are: N 45 27.762 by W 122 27.990.Please don’t block the gate. Hike to the cache is about ¾ mile each way with a 350 foot elevation gain.
Placed this cache while off track in looking for Butler Ridge Cache (GCG1J8) and this cache shares the same parking coordinates. While this is a great cache and on a map is pretty close by, I do not recommend you try a direct transit from one cache to the other, but instead return to the meadow and go from there. After parking, you can either climb over the gate, or through the fence on the right side of it. There is a short length of poly rope to prevent the wire strand from spreading. You can unhook it from one of the barbs, allowing you to step between the strands like a boxer entering the ring. Please be sure to put back as you found it. Proceed toward the SE corner of the field and then east into the woods where you will link up with an old road leading NE. This will lead you within about 100 yards of the cache. While the path to this cache is mostly an old roadbed, it has been long abandoned. Downed trees and underbrush including stinging nettles make this fairly challenging cache that requires long pants Cache is smallish plastic cylinder so no big trade goods pls.
