Kinderhook Cache Traditional Cache

Kinderhook Trail is located in Wayne National Forrest near Newport, Ohio. Take Rt. 7 North from Marietta, OH, turn left @ Wayne Natl Forrest sign ~1 mile past the St. Marys Bridge. Then proceed ~.8 mile to the Kinderhook Trail sign on the right.
This is a horse trail, so be prepared for uneven footing on the walk. Low end of the trail is flat and dry, however the trail conditions become slightly rugged near the cache. Most of the hike is uphill, but not severe.
This is a traditional cache in an ammo can. Inside the container you will find several trade items and a log book.
Consider taking along a sack lunch, or at least a bottle of water to wet your whistle before making the 10 minute hike back to the parking area. This cache location is a delightful place to rest and have a bite to eat, and also provides a beautiful vantage point to watch the sun set.
