Geocache Description:

Less than 500 ft from road - easy walk

As I was passing through I noticed something up on the hillside. Curiosity got the better of me and I had to see what it was.

Many abandoned mines are found throughout this area originally called the "Soledad Township". Since the mid 1840's thousands of people have come to this area to get rich.

More people got rich selling mining supplies, food or booze to the miners than the actual miners did from the gold.

The actual mine is located at N34 26.951 W118 20.094 not far from the cache so be careful.
