Near Pontatoc Ridge Trail. Hidden by rocks. NEW CACHE HIDDEN ON 12/18/2009. Maintained 2/26/2014.
Great hike to this destination. Tremendous views all along the upper part of this trail. Be sure to bring your camera. Refurbished on 2/26/2014. If you want to keep hiking, it is about 0.5 mi. to the Pontatoc Saddle, which provides a dramatic view to the south. If you continue on the trail for another .25 mile, you will reach the marked end of the trail. About halfway from the saddle to the end, another unmarked trail veers off (and UP) to the right. This difficult trail will take you to the very top of the ridge at 5,067 feet. Well worth it.
