From here you will need to find 3 virtual and one physical cache
Around the Town.
The First Virtual is located at N51°10.253 W001°47.098
you will need to note down the 4 numbers on it ABCD.
Whilst walking between Virtuals 1 & 2 you will be passing
the oldest building in Amesbury, this is the Parish Church of St.
Mary and St. Melor, this church was built in the 12th century.
The Second Virtual is located at N51°A0.337 W001°4C.B12
here you will need to note down the 7 numbers on it EFGHIJK.
You should now be walking down Salisbury Street, there are
numerous shops and places to eat and drink. A nice cup of coffee
and a fresh cream cake can be purchased at Reeves the Bakers, and I
would recommend for a very filling Fish and Chip meal that you go
to Mitchell's Chippy in Flower Lane just off of Salisbury
Street.
The Third Virtual is located at N51°(G+H).(E+H-F)(D-A)0
W001°4(J-H).J35 and has a metal plaque and an carving, the 4
numbers on the top carving is what you need LMNO.
You now have all the details needed to work out the final
location for the Physical cache.

This physical (small ½ litre screw top container) cache is
located in part of the town known as the "Lord's Walk", formerly
Lord Carleton's Walk named after Lord Carleton who planted a twin
row of Lime trees leading into the Amesbury Abbey in the year 1720.
Sadly he only lived for another 5 years after planting the trees so
was never to see his trees mature.
This area is owned and managed by the Amesbury Town Council and
is closed one day a year on Christmas Day.
Please be careful in the "Lords Walk" as it follows the course
of the River Avon and in winter is liable to flooding, so please
wear sensible footware and keep an eye on your children. You may
like to bring some bread for the ducks.
To get to the final part you will be walking at the side of the
main through road A345 on a wide pavement, please take great care
the road can be crossed at two pedestrian crossings, for your own
safety please do not cross at any other point.
There is no need to climb fences etc. as the "Lord's Walk" can
be accessed via a gate nearest to the river bridge between the main
Traffic Lights near the hairdresser "Hair by Joanna" and the
Countess Roundabout on the A345/A303.
When finding and replacing the cache please be discrete as this
area is used by fisherman and dog walkers. Also please be careful
removing and replacing the cache as the hiding place is
fragile.
We hope that you have a pleasant time Around the Town. More
information on Amesbury Town can be found at The Official website for
Amesbury Town
The terrain level will increase to 3½ if you use the first
gate rather than the second, to enter the Lord's Walk
Whilst in the area why not do the following caches
Woodhenge by The Wobbly Club, Stonehenge by Northern
Trekker, The Sun Gap Cache (Wiltshire) by The Wobbly Club,
Cursus Cache (Wilts) by Bill D (wwh) and Beacon Hill
by Simo1.
