De Paascache is een wandeling van ongeveer vijf kilometer door het
buurtschap Twekkelo over zogenaamde 'stiewelpaden' (zie
www.twekkelo.nl).
The Eastern cache is a stroll of approximately 5 km through the
neighborhood Twekkelo, near Enschede, on so-called stiewelpaths.

Paastocht
Wij vinden het prachtige Twekkelo, ingeklemd tussen verschillende
industrieterreinen en de snelweg A35, een uniek stukje Nederland,
dat we graag met je willen delen. In tegenstelling tot de andere
Twekkelose cache, de Wilgenkamp, wandel je hier over zogenaamde
‘stiewelpaden’, tussen weilanden en slootjes door. Wij raden je
daarom aan om ‘stiewels’ (Twents voor laarzen) te dragen.
Verder is het belangrijk om te weten dat je altijd aan dezelfde
kant van het Twentekanaal blijft. Je hoeft geen beken of sloten te
doorwaden, daarvoor zijn op de route altijd ‘bruggetjes’, ook moet
je op de paden blijven, we sturen je niet het weiland of
ondoordringbare bosjes in. Wel sturen we je (stiewel)paden op die
volgens het Mijnreglement verboden zijn. Tot slot: pas op bij het
oversteken, er wordt hier hard gereden. En vergeet niet om een pen,
papier en eventueel een rekenmachine mee te nemen!
Wij vinden Twekkelo in ieder seizoen mooi maar hebben een
voorliefde voor de lente, als alle planten en bloemen uitlopen. Wij
nodigen je uit om dit zelf te ontdekken en deze cache (die verstopt
is in een verlengd soepblik) zo rond pasen te zoeken. Geniet van al
het moois én een eitje, want je weet:
Palm, palm, pasen, ei koerei
over ene zondag krijgen wij een ei
één ei is geen ei
twee ei is een half ei
drie ei is een paasei.
Startpunt:
Parkeer je auto, motor of fiets op de parkeerplaats bij N
52.14.413, E 006.49.364 (WP 1). Je kunt de tocht overigens ook
makkelijk met het openbaar vervoer doen. Stap uit bij station
Enschede-Drienerlo en loop naar WP 1, het is ongeveer 15 minuten
lopen via de Twekkelerfietsbrug.
Tocht:
Loop vanaf WP 1 de doodlopende weg in naar N 52.14.633, E
006.49.041 (WP 2), verlaat hierbij zo snel mogelijk het asfalt. Je
moet overigens meteen de eerste wandelmeters al aanwijzingen
verzamelen:
1. Op de parkeerplaats vind je op de achterkant van het
fietsroutebordje een nummer. Trek hier 2200 vanaf en noteer de
uitkomst als A. Dit nummer heb je straks nodig voor het achterhalen
van de andere WP’s.
2. Tel het aantal verkeersborden dat je op de parkeerplaats en
doodlopende weg ziet. B is het aantal voorrangs- en
waarschuwingsborden. C = B + 1. D is het totaal aantal borden. (E
slaan we over, want die staat voor East)
3. Vervolg de route. Op een gegeven moment kom je een
telefoonnummer tegen, dat noch van het vaste noch van het mobiele
telefoonnet is (vooral in het voorjaar goed zoeken vanwege de
begroeiing!!). Noteer dit nummer als F en het nummer dat eronder
staat als G. Tel de 10 cijfers van F bij elkaar op. Tel ook de
cijfers van G bij elkaar op. Vermeningvuldig deze twee berekende
getallen met elkaar en tel bij dit getal nog 340 op. De uitkomst
hiervan is H. Kortom, voor de wiskundigen onder ons: H = {(som F) *
(som G)} + 340.
Aangekomen op WP 2 sla je linksaf op weg naar WP 3: N 52.14.BCD, E
006.48.H.
Maar: 1 ei is nog geen ei, dus onderweg naar WP 3 moet je weer
opletten:
1. Je komt drie zouthuisjes tegen. Spot en noteer de nummers van
deze drie huisjes en tel ze bij elkaar op. Trek van deze uitkomst
1200 af. Dit is I.
Dus: I = {nummer huisje 1 + nummer huisje 2 + nummer huisje 3} -
1200.
2. J is het nummer van het verbodsartikel uit het Mijnreglement dat
in deze streek zo belangrijk is. J bestaat uit twee cijfers. Trek
deze van elkaar af, de positieve uitkomst is K. Dus: K = J1 –
J2.
3. Kijk vervolgens uit naar een teken van de Hondendresseerclub. De
dag (van de maand) waarop deze club is opgericht, noem je L.
(AANPASSING: Het bordje is verdwenen, dus daarom meteen het
antwoord maar, de oprichting was op: 15-05-1923) 4. Het nummer van
‘t Valkennest gedeeld door 2 is M.
5. O = K + L + M. (N slaan we over, want die staat voor North)
Bij WP 3 ga je richting WP 4: N 52.14.I, E 006.49.O (helaas, een
half ei pas!).
Op deze etappe vind je op een gegeven moment een zwart paaltje met
een roze plaatje. Noteer de laatste drie getallen en tel hier 47
bij op. Dit is de P van Paasei!
Aangekomen op WP 4 moet je nog 1 keer rekenen en dan naar de cache
(drie ei is een ...)!
De coördinaten van de cache (WP 5) zijn: N 52.14.A, E 006.49.P.
Blijf onderweg naar WP 5 de beek, later sloot, volgen en houd deze
aan je linkerkant. Overigens is in de zomer in deze beek de in
Nederland zeldzame bloemsoort ‘vlottende waterranonkel’ te vinden.

PS: Als je nog net niet genoeg hebt gewandeld, neem dan deze mooie
route naar je vervoersmiddel terug: vanaf de cache rechtdoor, de
weg oversteken en het stiewelpad op. Aan het einde linksaf en je
komt uit aan het einde van de doodlopende weg.
Easter stroll
We consider the lovely neighborhood Twekkelo, which is surrounded
by several industrial areas and the highway A35, a unique piece of
The Netherlands. And we are delighted that we can share this
wonderful spot with you! Unlike the other cache in Twekkelo, De
Wilgenkamp, this cache is in an open area, to which you stroll
along so-called ‘stiewelpaden’. These paths are ‘constructed’ in
meadows and along brooks and ditches. Therefore we advise you to
wear ‘stiewels’ (top boots in Twents, Dutch dialect).
It is also important to know that you will walk on one side of the
Twentecanal. You don’t have to wade through brooks and ditches,
because there are always ‘bridges’ on the route, and you always
have to keep on the track, we don’t direct you into the meadow or
through impenetrable bundles. However, we do send you on
(stiewel)paths that are prohibited according to the
Mineregulations. Finally: be careful when you cross the street,
because cars and motorcycles drive fast. Don’t forget to take with
you a pen, paper and calculator!
We think Twekkelo is beautiful in every season, though we prefer
spring, when all plants and flowers sprout. We invite you to find
out yourself and look for this cache (which is hided in an extended
soup tin) around Eastern. Enjoy all the surroundings and an egg,
because you know:

Starting point:
Park your car, motorcycle or bike on the parking at N 52.14.413, E
006.49.364 (WP 1). You can also reach this point by train. Get off
the train in Enschede-Drienerlo and walk to WP 1 in 15 minutes
across the Twekkeler bicycle bridge.
Stroll:
Walk out of WP 1 into the blind alley towards N 52.14.633, E
006.49.041 (WP 2), and leave as soon as possible the pavement. You
have to find clues for the next waypoints right away:
1. At the parking you can find a number at the back of the
bicycleroutesign. Subtract 2200 of this number and note the outcome
as A. So A = number of sign – 2200.
2. Count the road signs that you find on the parking and the blind
alley. B is the number of signs for right-of-way and warning signs.
C = B + 1. D is the total number of signs. (We skip E, because that
means East.)
3. Proceed your walking. At a certain moment you will see a
telephone number. Please note this number as F. The number below is
G. Add up the 10 numbers of the phone number. Also add up the
numbers of G. Multiply these calculated numbers and add 340. The
outcome is H. So, for the mathematicians: H = [(SUM F) * (SUM G)] +
340.
Arrived at WP 2, you turn to the left on the way to WP 3: N
52.14.BCD, E 006.48.H.
However, one egg is not yet an egg, so along the way to WP 3, you
have to look for new clues:
1. You come across three salt sheds. Write down the numbers of
these sheds and add them. Subtract 1200 of the outcome. This is I.
So: I = (number shed 1 + number shed 2 + number shed 3) – 1200.
2. J is the number of the prohibitive rule of the Mineregulation
that is so important in this region. J consist of two numbers.
Subtract one number of the other. The positive outcome is K. So: K
= J1 – J2.
3. Subsequently, look at a sign of the trainingclub for dogs. The
day of the month that this club is founded, is L.
4. The number of the Eagles nest (Valkennest) divided in 2 is M.
5. O = K + L + M. (We skip N, because N represents North.)
At WP 3 you go to the direction of WP 4: N 52.14.I, E 006.49.O.
Unfortunately, you only have an half egg yet... Therefore you will
have to find another clue:
At a certain moment you will see a black picket with a pink little
plate. Write down the last three numbers that you will find on the
plate and add 47. This is the P of Paasei (Eastern Egg)!
Arrived at WP 4 you have to calculate one more time and than you
can hurry to the cache (because three eggs are one...)! De
coordinates of the cache (WP 5) are: N 52.14.A, E 006.49.P.
When you are on your way to WP 5, follow the brook, later on
ditch, and keep it on your left side. By the way, in the summer,
you can find in this brook a special type of flowers that is very
rare in the Netherlands, called the water crowfoot (Ranunculus
lingua).

PS: If the stroll is not far enough, you can take a lovely route
back to your transportation: from the cache you go straight ahead,
cross the road and follow the stiewelpath. At the end of the path
go to the left and this leads to the blind alley where the Eastern
stroll started.
