Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge
This 2,550-acre Refuge supports a variety of wildlife and their habitats. The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service manages the Refuge to protect migratory birds, endangered species, and other wildlife. Wertheim’s forests, grasslands and wetlands are home to may types of songbirds, mammals, shorebirds, fish, reptiles and amphibians.
The refuge is open from 8AM-4PM.
At the visitors center pick up a White Oak Nature Trail Guide. Stay on the trail there is no need to bushwhack to this location.
