Geocache Description:

Do your homework. Bring a good old compass.
Cache replaced 2/2/2011

During this adventure you will retrace the hiding of the crown of King Charles I in the mid seventeenth century. It remained hidden until about 1900 when two very clever chaps solved the Musgrave Ritual within a few days of one another. The first, by the name of Brunton discovered the truth of the ritual, but alas it was his undoing. He fell victim to his own greed and died for his treasure, never learning exactly what he had discovered. The second gentleman will remain nameless but saw the true value of his find. I have followed the same path and will attempt to assist you in your travels. The first part of the ritual goes like this:
"Whose was it? His who is gone. Who shall have it? He who will come. Where was the sun? Over the Oak." But enough of the ritual for now. You can research the balance and use the information contained within to find the cache for your self. First, go to the initial coordinates found on this page. These will take you directly to the former location of the old elm. I found the elm was gone but I have given you the coordinates of its former location. It will be difficult to pace out the individual directions as the area has grown over quite a bit since 1900 but fortunately, as clever as you are, you can take a more direct route. From there you must have already solved the Ritual to proceed to the treasure. Oh I do hope you are clever enough to succeed, but if you have not solved the Musgrave Ritual in advance there is just no sense in driving to Simi, as you won't find the answers here. Oh and do be a good lad or laddie and hide a cache in Simi when you come. As the sun is slowly setting in the West (according to my old compass), I must say, "Cheers."
