Old Path running though Dogtown Commons which provided a short-cut between Steel Derrick and Johnson Quarry and Lanesville
This is a short hike through Dogtown, where the foliage is stunning all year long, and the quiet winding paths take you back in time 300 years.
Bring Bug Spray, good books, and a Hat.
The quarry workers from over 100 years ago provided some of the finest granite on Earth from the "pits" in this area.
The unique structure of the stone in Dogtown Commons is unigue in that it is the hardest, and highest quality of granite found on Earth.
This cache needs someone to leave a disposable camera in it (the camera will need flash)
There is a Buddist Commune south of this location so you may see monks dressed in safron robes on the path with you, but they tend to avoid contact with outsiders.
Keep in mind that site this is near "Witches Cross-Road" just to the South.
While this is a public pathway there is private land nearby and a some of the locals may try to stop cachers from using the path. The path and cache itself is on public land, but be careful how you apprach the cache so as not to tresspass.
Tread lightly and be nice to the locals, they are good people, but can be cranky if they don't know you.
If the locals annoy visitors too much, I will move the cache.
