Its the ghost of a pioneer Southwestern town. In 1870 there was a silver strike and it grew to apx. 3000 people. It was named Ralston City or he Burro Mines. In 1879 the small town was diminishing and other mine promoters changed the name to Shakespeare. It prospered until the 1893 depression. In 1908-1932 a mining boom filled the town with lawlessness . There was no church, no newspaper, and no law. About four times a year, re-enactments are presented.
