thestosh: I checked on the cache Sunday and it is gone. I don't feel like paying for another ammo box for this location which is a pitty considering how popular it was. Maybe someone else would like to replace caches here for a while?

Geocache Description:

Located near the bridge crossing the French Broad River just down the road from Smoky Mountain Knife Works and the Yamaha building. This is an easy cache and could be done on a lunch break if you were in the area. (Possibility of mud after a rain) Please don't leave a social trail to the cache! Cover your tracks and the cache. This area is frequented by fishermen that would be glad to have a free ammo can.

This cache was established to fill the GeoCaching void created when the nearby "Smokey Mt. Knife Co." GC3985 cache was archived. It is in the same region, but not the same location. It is a standard ammo can. The best location to park may be the public TWRA boat access, but you could also park at the nearby knife store. NOTE: The cache is not on the TWRA land!

Please help make this cache last by covering it back up with some weeds and sticks. Also, don’t wear a path right to the cache; when you are done, wear the trail on further and loop back to your car so that it just looks like a trail to the river. Too many caches get accidentally discovered by the worn trail leading right to it. A word of caution to parents. The river is nearby and should be a consideration with uncontrollable children or pets.
