Geocache Description:

You'll visit 3 caves and a nice swimming hole while finding this cache.

The cache is located at one of the neatest caves that I know of. There is a stream running from the entrance and if you find the cache in the summer time, make sure to bring some swimwear! Even on the hottest days, the water is ice cold and very refreshing. I'd also suggest wearing shoes or sandals if swimming as there could be sharp objects in the sand.

The cave at stage 1 can be seen across the road. This cave used to have a parking area at the entrance with picnic tables and a bluegrass festival was held here.

The cave at stage 2 is one of the longest caves in Alabama at a length of over 1.5 miles. It's rumored that there used to be a dance hall in the first big room. I recommend sticking your head in the cave and looking at this first BIG room, as it's large enough to probably have a couple basketball games at once in it. Also, in the back of this room are pits where sodium nitrate was mined during the Civil War.

No caves must be entered in any stage of this cache, the stages are at or near the entrance. If you DO venture into the caves, insure you have the necessary equipment (ie. 3 seperate light sources, NOT ALONE, etc.)
