When I was still in primary school, I managed to collect all the
hockey player cards for the "Original Six" NHL teams. That required
chewing a lot of bubble gum and a doing lot of haggling with other
kids at recess. "Hey Billy, wanna trade? I'll give you Red Kelly
for Johnny Bower!"
Well I finally got all 108 cards and had them neatly mounted in
a scrapbook. When I later went off to University, my parents did
some housecleaning and threw the scapbook out! I almost cry when I
realize what that scrapbook collection would be worth now!
Well, this cache is not about trading cards but about trading
digits to find a cache. You will have to collect the digits that
make up the coordinates that will lead you to the cache.
The posted coordinates are irrelevant, but you may go there if
you wish.
The coordinates of Waypoint 1 are: N45 AB.CDE W075 FG.HIJ
Once you know the coordinates for Waypoint 1, go there where you
will find a label attached to a tree at head height. The label
gives partial minute coordinates for the cache. Add 0.725 minutes
to the north minutes on the label, and add 0.352 minutes to the
west minutes on the label. The result will be the minute portions
of the cache coordinates. The degree portions of the cache
coordinates are N45 W75. The cache is hidden in the greater Ottawa
area.
Each cacher below has been emailed a correct digit and the
corresponding letter. Example: "H = 7". The assignment of digits to
cachers has been randomly made by pulling them from a hat.
Since there are more cachers than required digits, more than one
cacher will have the same correct digit.
Now your job is to contact some of the cachers and try to
convince them to share or trade digits. Anything goes, including:
teamwork, trading more than one digit, begging, borrowing, bribing,
stealing, subterfuge, whatever. You may even wonder if you should
trust your trading partner! Some interesting group dynamics may
occur during the hunt for digits!!
Cachers may be contacted by going to their Profile Page and
clicking on 'Click To Email'.
Who will be the fastest digit trader and be first to arrive at
the cache?
