Geocache Description:

This is a cool cache. The location is really interesting, and the cache is not too terribly difficult to locate.

The box is a little white box, it greatly resembles a birdhouse (maybe because the box plans came from a birdhouse blueprint). My fellow boy scouts and I spent hours building these boxes in my garage. The Carrick Furnace is one of the oldest furnaces in Franklin County. It was built in 1800, and helped to bring the iron industry from the west into the east. This is the only furnace in Pennsylvania that still has its boilers and steam-powered engines intact. This furnace is really something cool for anyone to see.
