Geocache Description:

A cache along the Rock Castle Gorge on my family's private property.

Rock Castle Gorge trail is no easy hike if you do the entire length, but you will rewarded with fantastic views, great wildlife, and the best example of the Appalachias possible in a single day. Going from campsite to house is moderate flat walk with some elevation changes and footbridges. Beautiful views & excellent creek wading (& I've explored 3 miles both up & down stream) are more than enough reward for getting out into the great outdoors!

Cellphones do not work here so it is suggested you travel with someone and not by self. Campsites available in Gorge by free permit (see hike description).

Cache is in an ammo box painted green. To get to the general area, follow the trail until you see the Austin House (last remaining piece of private property in park; White building with green trim). Cross the creek in front of the house and follow your GPS from there. You will pass the remains of the old peach shed and watch for the flat animal trail to get you close.
