Golden Acre Park is situated about six miles north-west of the centre of Leeds at Bramhope on the A660 Otley Road. It consists of approximately 55 hectares of mature woodland and gardens surrounding an attractive lake. A comprehensive variety of trees and shrubs, as well as herbaceous and aquatic plants has been added in recent years. Check out this website for a preview of the area http://vrleeds.co.uk/goldenacre.html The main car park is at N53.52.264 W 01.35.784 (Otley Road) and from there it is a pleasant half mile stroll, passing the main natural features and café en route, to the cache site which is in the north east corner of the park, Alternatively there is a smaller but still busy car park about 150 yards or so from the cache site off Arthington Lane, Adel and near enough for the cache co-ordinates to guide you there. Slightly extra care as regards car security would probably be good advice at this location but generally I do not think a major problem. This 2nd car park is eminently suitable for a ‘hit and run’ visit! There are a number of other caches in the close viscinity all well worth a visit by reason of type or location.
