Geocache Description:

Welcome to Mays Pond! This was our first attempt at hiding a cache. My twin boys really enjoy GEOCACHING. They seem to think of it as Treasure Hunting.

This Multi Mystery Cache which you will be searching for will take you on a great adventure through Mays Pond Park. You can park your car on the street next to the Playground / Pool or across the street in the small parking lot. The fun starts at the Playground and don’t forget to bring 2 items to swap (make sure to keep them small). You are looking for 2 cache Ammo box containers. Be creative when searching for these caches and make sure that you are sneaky. The area is crawling with kids. To find each cache, you must first collect a series of clues. Clues are very obvious and will make your journey very enjoyable. So let’s get started! Watch out! GPS reception may be tough.

RyKy Cache #1

Clue ‘A’: Locate the Slide in the playground next to the street. Count the number of steps leading up to the top of the Slide but do not count the top step (the top where the Slide starts). The # of steps on the Slide – (1) = Clue ‘A’.

Clue ‘B’: Locate the Bus Stop Sign on the sidewalk next to the playground. On the sign is a bus route number ‘10Y’. The last digit represented by the letters Y, Subtract 4 from Y (Y-4). Subtracting 4 from Y = Clue ‘B’

Clue ‘C’: Count the Evergreen Trees on the fence line between the pool and the park. (The # of evergreen trees) – 6 = Clue ‘C’.

Clue ‘D’: Find the bench donated by the Girl Scouts of America. How many girls donated the bench? That # represents (A) What is the girls Troop’s #? Add the first and last number of the Troop’s #. That # represents: (B) (A + B) - 15 = Clue 'D'.

From the pool fence line, follow the trail northwest which will take you farther into Mays Pond Park. Cross the bridge and continue down the trail to the second bridge on your left. Cross the bridge on your left. This will lead you to the Baseball Field.

Clue ‘E’: Locate the Basket Ball Court. Count the number of Basketball Net(s) that are on the Court. The number of Basketball Hoop(s) + 6= Clue ‘E’.

Clue ‘F’: Locate the position at the following Coordinates:

N47 50.331 W122 12.418

From the trail where you are standing, locate the large stump. Look up and around. This is Clue ‘F’.

The cache is located at the following coordinates using the Clues provided. Location:

N47 50.BEC W122 12.FDA

After you have found the cache, your journey is not over. Re-stash the cache. Continue back to the playground by the street to collect more clues that will lead you to the second cache in Mays Pond Park.

RyKy Cache #2

Clue ‘A’: Locate the Green Park Bench(s) on the street side of the playground. The # of green park bench(s) = Clue ‘A’.

Clue ‘B’: Locate the Swing Set in the playground next to the street. Do not count the tire swing. Count the number of swing that the Swing Set can hold. (The # of swings) + 1 = Clue ‘B’.

Clue ‘C’: As you journey back into the park after crossing the bridge, turn left and head towards the pond. When you reach the ponds edge, look south across the pond at the house with the brick fireplace showing. What is the color of the house (common color)? (The number of letters in the color of the house) + 1 = Clue ‘C’.

Clue ‘D’: Locate the position at the following Coordinates:

N47 50.197 W122 12.334

Look across the pond at the Parks Clubhouse. Count the number of Pylons in the water that support the deck (it's full length) at it's outer most edge (only the ones you see from this location). For an extra challenge, this may be difficult during early, mid and late summer's growing season as well as late fall, mid winter and early spring wet seasons. :-) (The # of Pylons) – 6 = Clue ‘D’.

Clue ‘E’: Find the Ball Field. At the backstop, count the number of vertical post that support the highest portion of the back stop. Count the number of these post. (The # of Post) - 1 = Clue 'E'

Clue 'F': At the street corner in the park is an electrical box. Find the numbers on the box. You only need one of the numbers.

(One of the #'s on the box) - 3 = Clue 'F'

The cache is located at the following coordinates using the Clues provided. Location:

N47 50.ABC W122 12.EDF

Again, re-stash the cache. I hope you enjoyed your Journey in and around Mays Pond. Happy Caching!
