Seager Park is the location of a long defunct church camp now owned by the Park District. According to the Park District, the dilapidated cabins, now used for park district storage, are scheduled for demolition in 2005. Hopefully this area at the park entrance will be returned to nature.
Though small, this 31 acre park has some scenic terrain and some large ancient oaks along-side newer growth. It will only be a short walk to the cache from the parking area at Seager Park. The route choice to the cache is yours. There are more than one. The entire park is fenced from encroaching housing and there is a lot more park to explore without worrying about private property. Hopefully you will feel like a "happy camper" at Camp Seager. As of my last visit on 3-19-09 the cabins and house are all torn down-the park still has a couple of structures back in the woods which as it gets warmer will be harder to spot.
