Geocache Description:

You're seeking the pirate's booty, but must find two unusual micros first.

Captain Charsi's Cove

Ahoy Mateys! Captain Charsi is a two-year old pirate that has hidden a stash of booty in the woods next to the "high seas". AAAARRG!

This somewhat themed cache will lead you on a treasure hunt down the maze of trails near the river. The trail gets pretty intense and some bushwhacking is almost certainly required. There are also fallen logs crossing the trails in some areas, which may be difficult for children (and dogs) to pass.

Make sure to be wearing long pants and good shoes, and possibly some bug repellent. There are briars and other difficulties so be prepared. This multi-cache may take some time to complete (that is if I've made it hard enough) so give yourself some time to do it before the sun sets. It will be impossible in the dark!

This multi-cache consists of three stages. The first two are micros which will tell you the location of the next stage. The final cache is a regular cache in a tupperware type of container with a white lid. It contains all sorts of "treasure" trading items and of course a logbook.

(Updated 06-17-04): The forest has grown and this location is even more confusing than before, so I have provided these additional directions to make life easier for the people seeking this cache (and hopefully prevent a lot of unnessary bushwacking and briar scratches. Ouch!) The clues have also been updated, so refer to them if you're still having trouble!

Stage one - This stage is a little bit off of the main trail. There should be a couple of vines to step over. Please read the clue before going too far off trail!

Stage two - This stage is a doozy! It's not that bad if you go the right way the first time. There is a defined trail leading up to this cache so don't start making your own trail through the woods. Your GPS may start lying to you so don't trust it completely. The cache is towards the water! Not away from the water towards the woods. Look for the trail (you might have to go a little past). It will save you many scratches and spiders in the hair!

Stage three - The final stage seems to be one of the easier ones, if your GPS is helping instead of hurting. This one has pretty good trails leading to it. There will be a left turn (away from the water this time) off of the main trail. There is a pretty good trail up to it (most likely cacher created!), so if it looks iffy, keep going and look for a pretty well defined trail. You can see your destination before you can access it, but you don't want to turn as soon as you can see it, that is unless you like bushwhacking...

Due to the nature of this cache, only one group of people should seek it at a time. If you get to the first stage and something seems to be missing, (read messages inside the container to know what I mean) you can expect that somebody else is already seeking the other stages of the cache. You also probably shouldn't try to "cache by braille" since you'll need to find the first stage to get to the second. I won't tell you what that means or why till you get there... mu hu hu ha ha ha...

I built this multi-cache before deciding on a good place to put it. After driving around for hours, we headed to this familiar location to find that the other cache that was once there was gone. Our apologies if anyone feels it's too close to where Pawpal's Playground once stood.

Added Note: I just figured out that Coastie's Delight is in this same area. OOPS! Well, the more caches to find the merrier!

Hope you enjoy my first multi-cache and make sure to let me know if the coords are too far off!
