Geocache Description:

**Update 11/9/2019** The ship has been removed - presumably for maintenance (it's a huge ship). The cannons are still there on some timbers on the ground.

Cache has been repositioned. Gun crew kept removing previous cache. Repositioned cache is a waterproof matchstick container. This cache is located adjacent to the grounds of the National Civil War Naval Museum. The cache is accessible from the Columbus River Walk or automobile. A visit to Port Columbus will allow visitors to place their feet in the shoes of those who made history in the sea services of the Union and Confederate Navies during the Civil War. Visit the original Confederate warships in the collection, some of the rarest and most significant Civil War artifacts in the nation, and reconstructed ships in which the visitor can feel how it must have been to live and work. This cache is located on public grounds outside the museum. Admission to the grounds is free but there is a $4.50 charge to enter the museum.
