Geocache Description:


Easton's Hugh Moore Park is the home of the Josiah White II, a mule drawn canal boat operating on a restored section of the Lehigh Canal. From early May through late September, visitors can take a 40-minute journey along the canal, thanks to the efforts of Daisy and Dixie, the two mules. During those months, the park also offers tours of a locktender's house by costumed guides and canoe and paddleboat rentals. Throughout the year, picnic areas, a playground, fishing and three recreational trails are available: the River Trail, the Towpath Trail and a 3 1/2 mile paved bike path that stretches from the park to downtown Easton.
Access to the park is gained via the Lehigh Drive bridge on the north side of the Lehigh River (across the river from the park). Parking is available throughout the park with the largest parking area at N40 39.842 W075 14.291. Pets are not permitted in the area of the cache. However, dogs on lead may be walked on the bike path to the east of the park's exit bridge to Glendon. The normal operating hours of the park are dawn to dusk.
The cache is a camouflaged Rubbermaid container, 9x9x4.
Note: As with most areas along a river, this one is home to the infamous Stinging Nettle plant. During the foliage months, we recommend long pants.
