In the White Point Recreation area. No more than 200 feet off the hiking trail.
This cache is located in the White Point Recreation area of the Eglin reservation and requires a $10 permit from Jackson guard. Although many frequent this area without one. Fishing, hiking, picnicking, and sun bathing are activities to be enjoyed here. No license is required to fish from the shore here.Take a hike down the trail through these wonderous woods. Think about the beauty of the forests we have here in our area. Notice one of the native trees. The Long Leaf Pine Tree is a native of the Florida Panhandle and can be found everywhere around Niceville. Unfortunatly, the tree is being beaten out by the short leaf pine, a non-indigenous tree. The Long Leaf is an amazing tree, they stand straight and tall, growing to be over 120 feet tall.Park at the start of the trail down near the beach. The cache is about 0.17 miles from the nearest parking. The trail is easy, but the cache is well hidden in a slightly overgrown area about 170 feet off the trail at the farthest point and 140 from where one branch of the trail deadends. The cache is a medium size ammo can. Original contents: Diary, tissues, bottle opener, sewing kit, money notes, bungee cord, manicure kit, earrings, multitool pocket knife, perfume, mini clamp, slinky, super ball, a Bahama dollar bill, and a magnifying glass.Happy caching from Johnny Bravo and Friends.
