Pikeville Cache Traditional Cache
FastEM: First traditional cache (ammo can) was placed here when the area was very wooded and was apparently destroyed or removed when all the timber was cut. A second traditional cache (rubbermaid container) was placed in a different location a hundred feet or so away from the original, but apparently it too removed by muggles. I may eventually try to place a micro in this area just to draw people back to this Civil War era cemetery, but for now I have placed it in archive.

Every good cache involves "Turn off the paved road..." The new Pikeville Cache is a rubbermaid type container located in an easily overlooked historic location. When placed it contained a pen, log book, and a few small cache goodies for the kiddos to rotate their geo-stash. Happy caching! [8D]
The original Pikeville Cache was destroyed along with its hiding spot when the area was clear cut by loggers. We decided to replace it in an area we hope it won't get damaged, but we wanted to keep the name and to continue to draw people to this "hidden in plain sight" spot. Take some time to look around. We've also noticed that since we started caching years ago, most people seem to place micro's now due to convenience. Our kids loved that anticipation of seeing what treasure was inside when we found a cache. So we definitely wanted to keep this a traditional cache for the kids!
