Travel Bug Junction I-8 and CA-111 Traditional Cache

This transfer station (plastic container inside its' own utility box) will give cachers a place to drop off travel bugs that are east/west/north or south bound.
I decided it was time for a travel bug transfer station that is easy to find and on two major routes, I-8 (east/west) and CA-111 (north/south). This area is on the east side of El Centro, CA. The cache is located about 1/3 a mile north of I-8. Head north on CA-111 and turn right at the light. There is ample parking for cars and RV's at this location. You can see the parking from CA-111. There is room in this cache for small trade items.
03/31/05: UPDATE: Cache has been replaced because the area was cleared with a bulldozer. There is a pile of dirt and bushes 4 feet high. I am afraid the cache is gone.
02/23/06: UPDATE: Cache is now in new container. After replacing the cache container, I walked to the old area as the mound of dirt was a little smaller due to a years worth of rain and wind. When I looked at the base of the pile, I spotted the old container lid. Then I pushed the dirt around and there was the old mangled container. It had two travel bugs in it and a couple of trade items. I placed tham all in the new container.
