Many years ago everybody heated their homes in winter with firewood. The Hatch Lots were originally 10 acres apiece and the citizens who owned them would come out and harvest wood each year.Today some of this land is now conservation land. The trail follows an old woods road used by woodcutters.Park at North 42 10.673 degrees, West 070 50.575. Since the cache was placed back in 2004 a nice parking area has been put in. Original contents placed during "hatching" season.
