The original coordinates will place you at a memorial bench, placed to honor Carolyn by her kids. Sit here and gaze out at the view. This was Carolyn's favorite spot. Take a few minutes to relax and reflect before you start the task. Now - to the task. To solve this one you will need to use the basic alpha numeric code - where A=1, B=2, C=3, ..... Z=26.Your direction uses the first word on the memorial plaque. Add the sum of all the code numbers for all letters contained in the first word. Now add 50 to this sum. This will give you the direction (in degrees) in which you will need to walk. Use magnetic, rather than true north.
Now for the distance. Figure out the sum of the code numbers using all letters in the name (including the middle initial). Then subtract 31 from this number. This new sum is the number of feet you must travel from the bench to find the cache.
The cache itself is an ammo can. Please re-hide carefully. Have fun!!
