Wahlendorf (760 m above sea level) was first named in 1305, in a
document of 1326, Wahlendorf is listed as a property of the
monastery of Frienisberg. In 1380, Wahlendorf has been sold to the
city of Bern and belonged again to Frienisberg from 1528 on. Life
in Wahlendorf was very hard and the farmers always had to pay money
or to deliver wood, grain and meat to their oppressors. Today,
Wahlendorf belongs to Meikirch and is a quiet, lovely village with
good connections to Bern.

Wahlendorf (760 m über Meer) wurde 1305 zum ersten Mal erwähnt,
1326 wurde es in einer Urkunde als dem Kloster Frienisberg gehörend
aufgeführt. 1380 wurde Wahlendorf der Stadt Bern verkauft und
gehörte ab 1528 zur Vogtei Frienisberg. Das Leben in Wahlendorf war
hart, die Bauern mussten den jeweiligen Obrigkeiten stets Geld,
Korn, Fleisch und Holz abliefern. Heute gehört Wahlendorf zur
Gemeinde Meikirch und ist ein ruhiges, hübsches Dorf mit guten
Verkehrsverbinungen nach Bern.
