Geocache Description:

This is a five part multi cache in a Nature Preserve . Foot traffic only during daylight hours. About a 2.5 mile walk. The area was once a cattle ranch with lots of open fields and some rows of planted pines. This preserve has abundant wildlife that you might see if you are quiet while approaching the wooded areas.

This is a multi cache with camo'd PVC Pipe containers.
The stages of this multi leads you from the parking area to the next 5 stages and down the new trail and go left at the old trail and to the end and go right. You will pass by Deuces Walk (GCPXT9) between stages 2 and 3. After that cache you will need to go right on the next trail at the double red blaze. The Final cache container is a ammo can. Part 1: In a patch of large oaks. Lot of water to grow these trees this big. About 450 feet from parking area. Part 2: When it rains it flows.
Small creeks and ditches are a way the land drains off the excess rain water.
Part 3: I maybe small but inviting to all Since the invention of the dragline, dug-out ponds have also been used quite extensively as a surface water supply. An advantage of dugout water holes is that they can be placed where the rancher wants them in most of the "flat woods" pastures in Florida. However, they present the same or bigger health problems as natural surface water sources. Dug-out water holes are generally muddy and unclean since there is no upstream source to refresh the water.
Part 4: Pretty as a Beach. Surface water also can be unreliable during drought periods. Without rain there is no pond.
Part 5: It took a lot of water to grow me. These large trees have been using water to grow for many years. I imagine these trees has used many a gallon in it's lifetime. Cache placement approved by Chris Kiddy Program Coordinator Conservation & Environmental Lands Management
