Geocache Description:

As with all of our caches there is NO BUSHWHACKING needed to find this cache. It CAN be reached without your feet leaving the trail. Since it is so close to the trail PLEASE re-hide it well. Thank you.

The Wildwood Trail is the longest completed portion of the 40 Mile Loop. From the south, 23 miles of forest trails connect the Oregon Zoo complex, Hoyt Arboretum, Pittock Mansion, and Audubon House through to Springville Road, north of the St. Johns Bridge. Winding through second growth Douglas fir forest that harbors a wide variety of wildlife and native plant species, hikers and joggers are delighted with the seasonal displays of spring wildflowers and fall colors. The Wildwood Trail is not suited for bicyclists. The trail to this cache is an easy one to walk or jog since it is a fairly level trail. The only thing that would make it difficult would be after a fresh rain. Then it can get rather muddy. Otherwise it is a very enjoyable walk or jog. GPSr reception was poor even with the naked trees. Use hint.

This cache complies with the geocaching policies for Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) properties. Please respect park hours when caching.

12/13/22 The cache has been replaced but it will be archived if it keeps going missing. I have told and shown you exactly where it is. There is a photo in the gallery. Please leave it well covered with leaves as this is a very busy trail and we need to keep it hidden.
